If you are a high school junior or senior who wants to learn more about cooperative principles, develop leadership skills, and explore careers in a cooperative, then the Youth Ambassador Program is designed especially for you.
The Youth Ambassador Program will give students the opportunity to learn about renewable energy, participate in volunteer activities, tour local businesses in Jackson Electric's service territory, gain knowledge about financial responsibility, and take advantage of leadership activities at the UW-Stout Youth Leadership Congress and the Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.
Students who actively participate in this program have an opportunity to apply for the Youth Ambassador $1,500 scholarship. The recipient of this scholarship has the desire to continue his or her education beyond high school and is actively involved in leadership activities promoted by the program. There is also an opportunity for a Youth Ambassador to apply to attend the Electric Youth Tour in Washington, D.C., sponsored by Jackson Electric Cooperative.
To learn more about this program, ask your high school guidance counselor or contact Jackson Electric Cooperative.
