Jackson Electric members are encouraged to participate in the electric water heater program. Members who commit to this program will have the opportunity to receive free parts and service on their water heater during regular office hours. Qualifications do apply. As part of this program, Jackson Electric requires the installation of an energy management receiver. This receiver allows our power supplier, Dairyland Power, to manage your water heater during peak periods.
Effective September 30, 2021, after-hours water heater repairs and new and replacement water heater pick-up are no longer available. Please contact our office the next business day to request water heater service. Please have the serial number of water heater available so that warranty information can be obtained.
All 85- and 100-gallon grid-enabled water heaters are required to have an energy management receiver installed and operating. 100-gallon water heaters are available for purchase from Jackson Electric. Due to government regulations, all 100-gallon grid-enabled water heaters are required to have an energy management receiver installed.
Water heaters may be interrupted up to 16 times throughout the year, on any day at any time, and may be interrupted for up to four (4) hours each event. If you would like to be notified of when your water heater will be interrupted, please complete the Load Management form and submit it to our office. A two-hour notification will be given.

Jackson Electric offers rebates for qualified water heaters. If purchased from Jackson Electric, the rebate amount is deducted from the purchase price if an energy management receiver is already installed. If an energy management receiver is not installed at the location, the rebate will be issued once our technician installs the receiver.
Manufacturer warranty is available on both the 50- and 100-gallon water heaters. Extended lifetime warranty is available on the 100-gallon water heaters to the original owner only. Warranty qualifications differ with commercial and dairy applications. Contact our office for more information.
Tankless Water Heaters
Jackson Electric does not recommend the use of whole-house tankless water heaters. The energy savings is negligible when comparing a tankless water heater to the high-efficiency water heaters provided through Jackson Electric's program. Many homes do not have enough electrical capacity to power a whole-house tankless water heater and they will not work on our energy management program.
