Safety Presentations

Teaching the community and youth about the importance of safety around power lines is the purpose of Jackson Electric's electrical safety presentations. Safety demonstrations and presentations are available for civic and community organizations. Hot Line Demonstration

A hot line demonstration is conducted by our trained electrical line workers. The audience witnesses the power and dangers of electric lines by viewing what happens when a tree branch, kite, or person (simulated by a hot dog) accidentally come in contact with a power line energized to 7,200 volts.

A collaborative effort by the Wisconsin electric cooperatives, this video teaches drivers and passengers the dangers of coming into contact with power lines and electrical equipment. Do you know what to do if you're in a vehicle accident that has come into contact with downed power lines or other electrical equipment?

Farm Safety

Jackson Electric is also involved in the discussion of farm safety around power lines during the county's annual tractor safety certification course. During the planting and harvest seasons, days can get long and hectic. The Ag. Safety brochure will give you a few reminders to keep you safe around the farm this season.
